that writing and then recording skits as a kid, with my tape recorder up in my bedroom when I was bored, would lead to a career in Voice-Over? I would practice silly voices and then record them with sound effects I made with objects laying around the house. Yep, this is the kind of stuff you do when you need to seek refuge from a huge family of 8 kids, all trying to get attention. But now I consider myself extremely lucky and am very grateful to be able to make a living doing what I always wanted to do. And you know that saying – Do one thing, and do it well ? Well, I’ve found that when it comes to voice-over, versatility is key. And the ability to do more than one thing has proven to be very rewarding. You may have heard my voice but had no idea it was me. Even my own family members have been known to say “That was YOU?”. I have been the V.O. host for the #1 show on HGTV (House Hunters). I’ve been a member of the loop groups for Disney/Pixar films. I’ve become countless different characters for video games, even doing voice matches for some of them. And I’ve enjoyed being the voice for hundreds of national TV and radio campaigns for clients like Truvia, Uncle Ben’s Rice, La-Z-Boy, Burger King, KFC, Diet Coke and more. The funny thing is, I actually avoided doing voice-overs for a really long time, because when you’re from the mid-west, well, doing voices for TV and radio just isn’t really considered actual “work”. And you know what? It isn’t… it’s a total blast!
